Sweet Chili Sauce

A sweet-and-hot sauce to use in place of salsa or ketchup. Serve with fried fish, roasted meats or scrambled eggs.


1/2 cup rice vinegar

1 tbsp minced red chile

1 tbsp sugar

1 tsp sugar

1 tsp salt


MIX all ingredients in small saucepan. Bring to simmer on medium heat. Simmer until mixture thickens to a syrupy consistency, stirring constantly.

MAKES 1/2 cup.
